Job Title: Country Manager – Foreign Exchange Services

Location: Toronto, Canada (In-Office)

Company Overview: Our client is a leading foreign exchange brokerage firm specializing in providing strategic FX solutions to drive commercial impact. With a strong presence in multiple countries, they are expanding their operations into Canada and are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Country Manager to lead their Toronto office.

Position Overview: The Country Manager will be responsible for establishing and growing the company’s presence in Canada. This role involves managing all aspects of the Canadian operations, including sales, client relations, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the FX market, a proven track record in sales leadership, and a desire to build and scale a business in an entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Entry and Business Development:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive market entry strategy for the Canadian market.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, focusing on small to large corporate clients.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Sales Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the FX sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Drive the sales process for spot, forward, and structured FX products/options.
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to client engagement, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Toronto office, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) for the Canadian operations, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with global leadership to align the Canadian operations with the company’s overall strategic objectives.
  • Provide regular market insights and performance reports to inform decision-making at the executive level.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the foreign exchange (FX) industry.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing FX sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success in closing deals with corporate clients across various FX products, including spot, forwards, and options.
  • Background:
  • Currently holding a senior position at one of the top seven Canadian banks.
  • Based in Toronto, with an in-depth understanding of the Canadian FX market.
  • Skills and Attributes:
  • Highly driven and entrepreneurial mindset, with a desire to build and scale a business.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centric approach.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
