Business Development Representative (BDR)
Reports to: Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer
Works closely with: Senior Account Executive, Sales Operations Analyst
ASAPP Financial Technology Inc. is hiring a Business Development Representative
(BDR) to support our growing go-to-market team as we expand across Canada and into the
U.S. financial services space. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue and Marketing
Officer, this role is an essential part of our client acquisition strategy and is ideal for
someone who thrives in an outbound, research-driven sales development environment.
This role will focus on identifying and qualifying new opportunities within regulated financial
institutions—particularly credit unions—and setting the stage for high-value enterprise sales
conversations.
Your Role
Outbound Lead Generation
● Research and identify prospective clients that align with ASAPP’s ideal customer
profile (primarily credit unions and community banks with $300M–$2B in assets).
● Conduct targeted outbound outreach via email, LinkedIn, and cold calls to key
decision-makers.
● Personalize messaging based on institutional goals, market data, and product fit.
Lead Qualification & Handoff
● Qualify inbound leads and transition high-potential opportunities to the Senior
Account Executive or leadership team.
● Maintain high activity levels and follow-up cadences to maximize engagement.
● Schedule and confirm discovery calls and platform demo meetings.
Sales Enablement & CRM Discipline
● Keep CRM data accurate and up-to-date, logging all outreach, engagement, and lead
disposition.
● Work closely with the Sales Operations Analyst to monitor performance metrics and
support pipeline hygiene.
● Collaborate with the marketing team on outbound campaigns and follow-up
strategies post-conference or webinar.
Industry Knowledge & Cultural Fit
● Develop deep knowledge of ASAPP’s product offerings and competitive positioning.
● Represent ASAPP’s values—Integrity, Fairness, Passion—in all internal and external
interactions.
● Participate in internal team meetings, enablement sessions, and company events.
Success Criteria
Critical
● 1–3 years of experience in B2B business development, lead generation, or outbound
prospecting (preferably in SaaS or fintech).
● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong research skills and the ability to personalize outreach at scale.
● Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot or
Salesforce).
● Based in Canada, with availability for occasional in-person team meetings or event
support.
Valuable
● Knowledge of credit unions, community banks, or regulated financial institutions.
● Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles.
● Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting platforms.
● Demonstrated interest in fintech or digital transformation technologies.
